Dr. Chris Masila | Project - Team Leader - Chris is an accomplished public health systems management consultant in Africa with a focus on sustainable pro-poor health care models and working on health systems, communicable and non-communicable diseases management in both public, development agencies and private health sector. He has recently developed a USAID Decision Support Tool for engaging the private sector in health supply chain and piloted this in Liberia in November 2024. He is the co-founder and lead director of partnerships and health systems at PractHealth.
He has undertaken evaluations, situation and organizational strategic and technical analysis, project implementation and implementation research, technical assistance and capacity building and adaptive management of multi-partner programs, private start-ups and aid modalities. His recent work includes assignments for CIFF, Trade Development Bank (TDB), ECSA-HC World Bank East Africa Public Health Laboratory Networking Project, African Leaders Malaria Alliance. He is particularly passionate about the intersection between business modelling and redefining universal healthcare to improve access to basic healthcare to deliver value for money.
Dr. Urey is a land tenure expert with a wide range of expertise in qualitative and quantitative field-based research; program organization; project implementation and oversight; grant and proposal writing; customary/informal land tenure regimes; rural land governance; technical training programs; and land policy.
With over 15 years of experience in the land sector, he has coordinated with stakeholders in the land and environmental sectors, offering commentaries on land policy papers, draft land laws, and environmental and land governance strategies.
Dr. Urey’s interests focus on livelihoods and health; culture preservation; sustainable development; environmental issues; the management of common property; gender issues; impacts of largescale concessions for rural people; and environmental and social justice issues.
